ABOUT I BUY LOCAL

BUYING LOCAL vs. NOT BUYING LOCAL
BUYING LOCAL= More Money & Support for Local Businesses

Shopping at locally owned businesses puts significantly more money into the local economy. The more you spend your money at locally owned and independently operated businesses, the more you help support and promote the idea of progressive independent business and culture throughout the greater communities of Taiwan.

IMPACT OF NOT BUYING LOCALLY
Millions of dollars are spent daily on various goods and services throughout Taiwan. Shopping primarily with larger organizations and international chains results in a large percentage of money leaving the local economy on a daily basis. Shopping with big chain stores might leave as little as 10-20% within the local community—which puts the majority of money spent leaving the local market. We’re not advocating that you shouldn’t shop at chains or buying international products and services, we’re just advocating a strong focus on local businesses as well. Focusing on local business keeps more money in the local community and promotes the growth and sustainability of local business.

MORE BENEFITS OF BUYING LOCAL
UNIQUE LOCAL CULTURE
Locally owned businesses contribute not just to our economy but also to our culture. Supporting the growth of locally owned and operated businesses promotes a sustainable environment for the positive growth of unique and socially conscious local culture.

MORE JOBS WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES
Locally owned businesses typically interact and buy more of their goods and services from other locally owned businesses. This interaction links the community in a web of economic growth. The more we join together locally to promote the progression of locally owned and operated businesses, the more and more we provide ourselves with new opportunities throughout our local communities to explore new directions as a collective of culturally progressive businesses and individuals.

NETWORK OF SUPPORT & GREATER EXPOSURE
Joining together to promote local business give local patrons more opportunities to express their support for local business. By working together we concentrate our efforts on mutually beneficial growth as a community with a focus on locally owned and operated businesses. In doing so, we also show those from other communities how strong we can be as a collective of culturally progressive individuals and local business within our community.
