Shopping at locally owned businesses puts significantly more money into the local economy. The more you spend your money at locally owned and independently operated businesses, the more you help support and promote the idea of progressive independent business and culture throughout the greater communities of Taiwan.

IMPACT OF NOT BUYING LOCALLY
Millions of dollars are spent daily on various goods and services throughout Taiwan. Shopping primarily with larger organizations and international chains results in a large percentage of money leaving the local economy on a daily basis. Shopping with big chain stores might leave as little as 10-20% within the local community—which puts the majority of money spent leaving the local market. We’re not advocating that you shouldn’t shop at chains or buying international products and services, we’re just advocating a strong focus on local businesses as well. Focusing on local business keeps more money in the local community and promotes the growth and sustainability of local business.
